Welcome Aboard!

New Student Orientation for Fall 2024 will take place the week prior to the start of the academic semester. This multi-day program serves as an introduction to military life and expectations for NROTC Students for both college program and scholarship alike. It will also introduce you to members of the Battalion, and members of your class.

How to Register for National Scholarship Recipients:

If you were awarded a National NROTC Scholarship, and have not yet been in contact with the unit, navigate to the Contact Us tab and fill out the form. This will notify the UNC NROTC Staff that you have accepted your scholarship designated to UNC and would like to register for NSO.

How to Register and Apply for Prospective College Programmers:

If you did apply for or not receive the National NROTC Scholarship, you many still join NROTC as a College Program student. Navigate to the Contact Us tab and fill out the form to notify the UNC NROTC Staff that you would like to apply to join the UNC NROTC College Program and register for NSO. The UNC NROTC Staff will review your application and if you are accepted you will receive more information about NSO.

The NROTC College Program is for students who have not received a scholarship. Accepted College Program students attend UNC and participate in all NROTC activities just like their scholarship student peers. There is no delineation between the two types of students. College Programmers have no service obligation unless they are awarded a scholarship contract or are chosen for Advanced Standing.

Navigate to the FAQ page or the UNC Student page for more information on the College Program and Advanced Standing.

Application documents will include items such as: SAT/ACT scores, medical paperwork, personal statements, transcripts, etc.

Application documents and Registration for NSO and the Fall 2024 Semester are due NLT 1JUL24.

Application documents for the Spring 2025 Semester are due NLT 1NOV24.
